Site information

Privacy

This first version does not include advertising, account sign-in, contact forms, or newsletter collection. Optional Google Analytics stays off until you allow it on the public site.

Optional analytics

When configured for the public production site, Google Analytics is off by default and only starts after you choose Allow analytics. After that choice, the site sends a page view, one article-read event after you reach halfway through a guide, and the path of an internal link you follow. Page locations and referrers contain only an origin and pathname. It does not send search text, URL query strings, form data, account details, or cape checklist marks. Analytics does not enable advertising.

Your choice is saved in local storage for this browser and this site. Use Analytics preferences to change it when that control is available. If it is not available, clearing this site’s data in your browser is an alternative way to show the choice again. Google may set analytics cookies only after you allow analytics.

Local browser storage

The guide filter works in your browser without saving your search to the site. The optional cape progress helper saves only which listed steps you marked in the three-step Hero route and a two-step Twisted route, in local storage for this browser and this site. Java or Bedrock use is optional and is not part of either checklist. Checks are not uploaded, synced, or used to confirm a reward. Use the Clear saved checks button in each cape checklist to remove that checklist’s saved marks. If local storage is unavailable, you can still mark steps for the current visit, but those marks will not be saved.

Changes to this page

If the site later adds a service that changes how visitor data is handled, this page will be updated before that service is enabled.
