Minecraft Dungeons II guide

Check your platform before launch day

Updated September 7, 2026 · Based on announced systems and publisher previews · Releases September 29, 2026

Minecraft Dungeons II releases September 29, 2026. Buy or plan around the announced version for your device: Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch 2.

Start with the platform you will actually use on launch day. On PC, Steam and a qualifying Xbox PC offer are separate purchase paths; Xbox Play Anywhere does not turn a Steam purchase into an Xbox copy.

Find your listed version

The announced native-platform list covers Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. As of September 6, 2026, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile are not on that list. That is a current list, not a prediction about every future version.

For Steam, prepare to use a Microsoft account. If friends will play remotely, check the online-play requirement on the store for the platform each person is using.

Keep Game Pass and online play separate

The Xbox product page announces day-one Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere for a qualifying Xbox console and PC offer. Check the plan and storefront before you commit. Those benefits do not extend a purchase to Steam, PlayStation, or Nintendo.

Online console multiplayer and co-op require a platform-specific subscription sold separately. That is a remote-play check, not a reason to assume local-only co-op needs the same subscription.

Use this buying order

First confirm your exact platform. Then compare the PC tier, edition, or promotion that affects that platform. If the pre-order offer matters to you, its listed September 28 end date has no stated cutoff hour or timezone, so complete that decision before the date rather than leaving it to the last minute.

Choose the version before comparing extras.
