Minecraft Dungeons II guide

A calm Day 1 plan for your first session

Updated September 7, 2026 · Based on announced systems and publisher previews · Releases September 29, 2026

On Day 1, settle your party plan, confirm the account and platform path, read your loadout layers once, and save major smith decisions until you know what role a piece of gear serves.

Use this order to start calmly, without chasing a timed route, a fixed starting inventory, or a merchant unlock order. It covers the useful first-mission preparation inside one launch-day plan.

Start with the people

Agree whether your party is local, online, or mixed, then count every local and remote player against the four-player total. Steam players should prepare the Microsoft account required by that version before the group meets.

Give the first session a simple order before you spend.

Read the loadout before replacing it

Dungeons II expands the loadout with four armor pieces and passive talismans. Start by asking what slot and job each piece has; that is more useful than chasing a named item before you have learned the systems.

Make your first spends deliberate

When a piece has a clear role, name the change you want before visiting a smith. A library effect is an Enchantsmith question; equipment power or a built-in-buff reroll is a Blacksmith question. If the item does not yet have a role, hold the decision and keep playing.

After the first session

Use what your group enjoyed to choose the next guide: party preparation, an early role, enchanting, or talismans. Change your plan when a new piece clearly helps the job you chose, not because a list says every drop must be replaced.
